Doppstadt Introduces New SWS 6 Spiral Shaft Separator

Jun 3, 2026 - 19 days ago

Equipped with a hopper and tracked chassis, the new SWS 6 from Doppstadt focuses on maximum separation precision and can be used as a stand-alone machine or as a key component in the Mobile Modular Processing Concept (MMPC).

Ultimate mobility in screening technology: Thanks to its integrated drive and tracked chassis, the new SWS 6 operates as a completely independent functional unit. Its flexible material flow system allows for easy combination with various other machines.

With the SWS 6, Doppstadt is taking the separation of challenging material flows to a new level. The spiral shaft separator is designed as a self-sufficient functional machine and offers users a maximum degree of flexibility and independence. At IFAT (May 4-7), Doppstadt demonstrated the practical advantages the SWS 6 offers, highlighting how the new technology enhances cost-efficiency in processing lines.

At the heart of the SWS 6 lies Doppstadt’s patented spiral shaft technology. “Due to its unique spiral design, the system is self-cleaning and completely eliminates wrapping and clogging,” explained Moritz Müller, Product Manager at Doppstadt. "This design principle ensures continuous material separation without maintenance-related interruptions. The SWS 6 delivers reliably stable screening results even in complex waste streams and can be optimally combined with shredders or other upstream and downstream equipment."

Full mobility on difficult terrain

Equipped with a robust tracked chassis, the machine achieves a new level of operational flexibility. "We have consistently tailored the SWS 6 to the real-world conditions found at recycling yards, landfills, or construction sites with uneven ground," said Müller. "The track system makes it ideal for use on unpaved surfaces. A decisive practical advantage: the machine can be moved quickly around the yard via remote control – without the need for an additional loader or towing vehicle. This provides operators with a highly mobile system that is ready for immediate use and can be flexibly positioned at changing locations."

Reliable wind sifting without additional effort

To maximize value, the SWS 6 utilizes the physical advantages of the spiral shaft: by stretching the material across the shafts, a perfect foundation for integrated air classification is created. This allows light fractions to be separated reliably without the need for an additional, external machine for this process step. This saves space and reduces the complexity of the processing line.

MMPC: Systemic flexibility

In addition to stand-alone use, the SWS 6 is designed for ideal integration into system environments. At IFAT, Doppstadt presented the new development in conjunction with the Mobile Modular Processing Concept (MMPC). Within this plant concept, the SWS 6 plays a central role in separation. Users benefit from the high flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance of the MMPC: machines and individual components can be easily replaced as required.
