JLG is delivering enhanced platform capacity, productivity features and an 86-ft platform height to help contractors at work at height with the new 860SJ+ Telescopic Boom Lift.

JLG Industries, Inc. previewed its new 860SJ+ telescopic boom lift at CONEXPO. Designed to boost productivity and job site versatility, the 860SJ+ builds on the proven performance of the popular 860SJ platform while delivering expanded lifting capability, enhanced operator functionality and new serviceability features.


“The 860SJ+ preview reflects JLG’s ongoing commitment to listening to customer feedback and engineering solutions that help operators work more productively and efficiently,” says Sam Myers, product manager – boom lifts, JLG. “It is exciting to give our customers a glimpse of a machine that will provide them with the performance, productivity, maneuverability and versatility required for demanding construction, steel erection and industrial maintenance applications.”

Enhanced Productivity and Performance

The 860SJ+ is engineered to help operators maximize time at height through a combination of performance upgrades and operator-focused design enhancements, including:

  • Ability to transport more materials and personnel compared to traditional capacity machines
  • Strong outreach performance to support maximized platform capacity
  • Offers additional machine positioning and operator flexibility to maneuver around complex job sites and obstacles at height more efficiently
  • Ability to run high-powered welding equipment directly from the platform when configured with approved power options

Advanced Serviceability and Uptime Features

The 860SJ+ incorporates several design enhancements intended to simplify maintenance and help keep machines operating at peak performance, including improved access to service points and centralized maintenance components to support efficient troubleshooting and serviceability.


The machine also integrates JLG’s advanced connectivity capabilities, including ClearSky Smart Fleet IoT (Internet of Things) platform, helping fleet managers and operators monitor machine performance and support proactive maintenance planning.

Previewing Ahead of Production

“The 860SJ+ model is designed to meet the evolving demands of today’s job sites,” says Myers. “Seeing this preview machine at CONEXPO-CON/AGG [gave] attendees the opportunity to experience how this new boom lift builds on JLG’s legacy of high-performance telescopic boom solutions and check out its new productivity-driven features firsthand.”
